Santa Run

We are completing the Santa run for Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity because they saved our baby girls life

Oliver, Imogen, Harrison and I are taking part in a Santa Run. We are doing this run/walk/toddle to raise money and awareness for The Neonatal Unit at Colchester General Hospital.
As many of you know Imogen was born with pneumonia and had to be intubated. Without the fast acting nurses, the knowledge of the doctors and the highly specialist equipment they used, Imogen would not have survived to bless our family. We will never be able to repay them, but we can help to save other babies by raising awareness and funds for equipment and staff training.

Thank you for helping us to help them.

Paolo Cerroni
Silverstone on foot!

Having survived my first attempt last year I have decided to do a Half Marathon again this year…. what doesn’t kill you makes you complacent! Sadly, Cerroni senior has injured himself in training and is a very reluctant late drop out.

Again, I am running for Stroke Association, which is a charity that supports and does tremendous work for those affected by strokes, including both the patients and their families. For a number of reasons this is a cause close to my heart.

I would be tremendously grateful for any donations you are able to make which will motivate me as I splutter around East London training on these cold and wet days until I am finally ready to ‘race’ around the track.

Thank you in advance and I hope you enjoy the sweaty lycra posts to follow.

Here comes the science bit—Concentrate!

Robert’s Berlin Marathon 2018 page

I ran the London Marathon on 16th September 2018 and achieved a new personal best of 4hrs and 40 seconds.  It was a little annoying to be so close to beating that mythical sub four hour time, but I was pleased with a PB in any case.

It was also great to complete two marathons in one year and raise some cash for good causes.

Get Kids Going are a charity that help disabled children get into and enjoy sport, by provided opportunities, equipment, coaching and all sorts of other things to support their wellbeing.  Playing sport is one of life’s great pleasures and this charity help children to overcome their disabilities and still take part.  Who knows?  Your donation may just fund a future Paralympian!

Thanks for your support, both for the charity and my endeavours!

I suppose it’s now onwards and upwards for either Tokyo, Boston or Chicago to collect my Marathon set!

Thanks

Rob

Pedal4PB Lands End to John O Groats Cycle Challenge

Peter Brown known affectionately as “Browny” to his friends sadly lost his battle with depression in July 2018. He left behind his 11-year-old son.

In Peter’s memory and to raise funding and awareness about the importance of mental health support, we will be cycling 969 miles from the tip of Cornwall at Land’s End to the edge of Scotland at John O’Groats.

Our route is split across nine days covering an average of 108 miles per day and climbing around 15,000m. That is almost twice the height of Everest!!!

We are not athletes, so there is no doubt that this challenge will be difficult. However, the struggles we will face won’t compare to the debilitating reality of living with mental illness.

With your help, each mile we travel will raise vital funds to support those who need it.

Each hill we climb will help someone see through the darkness of mental illness and change their life.

Follow us on Instagram @Pedal4PB for updates on our training, route preparation and information about the great work Mid & North East Essex Mind do.

Thank you.
