Meet The Team
Oliver has been a Director of Alan Bender Ltd. since 2005. After finishing University, Oliver worked alongside his father, Alan Bender, learning the ropes and becoming proficient in all trades, eventually taking on more responsibility with running the business. When Alan retired in 2012, Oliver took over the company to become Managing Director and is well known for his professional approach and focus. His organisation skills are second to none and his ability to commit every detail to memory is astonishing! Oliver’s impressive knowledge of the building trade, coupled with a strong business philosophy, ensures he remains hands on, client-focused and a great team builder. Oliver has a vision for the future and is determined to see the company continue to develop and evolve to even greater heights.
David, our longest serving member of staff, joined Alan Bender Ltd. in 2000 during his apprenticeship, and has gained extensive experience throughout this time. A bricklayer by trade, David specialises in bespoke builds. He takes great pride in his work and his highly organised, tidy approach and attention to detail is deeply respected by both colleagues and customers.
Simon has known the Bender family, especially Oliver, since he was 16 years old. He has an excellent work ethic, is highly focused and always leads by example. With Simon’s vast experience, he can turn his hand to any trade, but specialises in refurbishments and extensions. Simon’s personable manner is always well received by clients and he is incredibly dependable and self-motivated.
Adam joined Alan Bender Ltd. shortly after leaving school in 2009 and has worked his way up to a qualified Site Supervisor following several years’ experience with us. He has developed into an accomplished multi-skilled tradesman with many successful builds under his belt. Adam has fantastic all round knowledge and is an asset to our team. Adam can fix anything!
A qualified carpenter by trade since 2007, Bryan is a methodical and precise member of the team. He thrives off of a variety of works and is a reliable and diverse tradesman. He has a good sense of humour and great communicative skills to work well with all different trades, ensuring a smooth process during any project. Bryan is approachable and responsible and will work in any conditions, for as long as it takes, to get the job done, as long as we keep providing black tea with no sugar!
Small Works Division
With many year’s experience under his belt and a carpenter by trade, Larry is fantastic for our ‘small works division’. He tackles our plumbing projects and is a very versatile handyman! He is incredibly loyal and methodical and has an abundance of ‘odds and sods’ in his van to challenge any leaks or issues! Larry has a caring nature which helps him to resolve clients specific needs and requirements, no matter how unusual or unique they are. He has a real ‘can do’ attitude to any task asked of him and is a really reliable member of our team.
Natalie has worked for Alan Bender Ltd. since 2013 and is our Office Manager. She oversees the Health & Safety following her SMSTS qualification in 2016. Natalie is the perfect link between office and site and her organisational skills, experience and down-to-earth manner are the perfect combination to achieve well-motivated, hardworking staff. She is approachable, supportive, understanding and has an infectious positive influence on the team.
Sarah is our Senior Administrator who thrives on the fact that every day is different and brings new challenges. Although her previous experience was in sales, since starting with us in January 2016, Sarah has shown she is fast and adaptable. She has a great customer service attitude and her reassuring manner and ability to solve any queries promptly, enables her to establish a great rapport with clients.
Mike is our Accounts Manager who joined us in 2015, following previous experience working in finance in the city. Mike is a great asset to the company. He has a pragmatic approach and an eye for detail, which leaves our clients feeling reassured and confident. Mike’s wealth of knowledge and obliging manner enable him to provide clear, concise information to staff and clients alike.
Annette takes care of all our service connections, contracts, buying and insurance. She also assists Mike with accounts and Natalie with H&S. Annette has a long history of working within the building industry having previously spent 18 years managing a large team of contract administrators across various sites. Annette enjoys travel and running, having completed the London Half Marathon 2018, raising funds for The British Heart Foundation.
